3. Information we collect and purposes of use

The information collected on the Site and the purposes of use are as follows. The Site does not require a user account for browsing.

Inquiry information
Company name, your name, email address, subject, and inquiry content submitted through the contact form (including any plan you selected when contacting us). Used to answer questions, prepare quotes, discuss and perform contracts, and follow up as necessary.
"Like" feature information
When you "like" a blog article, the randomly generated ID stored in your browser (an anonymous ID) and the identifier of the article are stored in our database. Used to prevent duplicate "likes" on the same article and to compile article ratings. This ID alone cannot identify you as an individual (see "6. About the like feature").
Access logs
IP address, browser type, pages viewed, dates and times of access, referrer and similar information. Used to operate the Site safely, investigate and prevent unauthorized access, and compile usage statistics.
Cookies and advertising identifiers
Used to remember your display language, for access analysis (Google Analytics 4), and for advertising (Google AdSense). See "4. Access analysis (Google Analytics 4)" and "5. Advertising (Google AdSense)".

4. Access analysis (Google Analytics 4)

The Site uses Google Analytics 4, an access analysis tool provided by Google LLC, to understand and improve usage. Google Analytics 4 uses cookies and anonymous identifiers to collect information such as pages viewed, device type, and referrer.

The collected data is transmitted to and stored on servers of Google LLC (United States). We use the analysis results as statistics that do not identify individuals in order to improve the Site. For details on how Google Analytics handles data, see Google’s Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

You can refuse data collection by Google Analytics by disabling cookies in your browser. You can also refuse the transmission of data itself by using the browser extension provided by Google for opt-out (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en).

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

The Site uses Google AdSense, an advertising service provided by Google LLC, to earn operating revenue. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to display ads relevant to you (personalized ads) based on your browsing history on the Site and other websites. For details on the use of cookies for advertising, see Google’s policy (https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads).

You can disable personalized ads at any time from Google Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com/). You can also refuse advertising cookies themselves by changing your browser’s cookie settings (see "7. Managing cookies" for the effects).

6. About the "like" feature

The "like" feature requires no account registration and no entry of your name, email address or other details. An anonymous ID randomly generated in your browser’s local storage is used, and only the combination of this ID and the article is sent to our database when you tap "like".

You can erase this anonymous ID from your device by deleting site data in your browser settings. We may delete the records of anonymous IDs paired with articles when we stop offering those articles on the Site.

7. Managing cookies

The Site uses our own cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) to remember your display language, as well as third-party cookies (Google etc.) for access analysis and advertising.

You can disable or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some features of the Site, such as remembering your display language, may not work correctly. Please note this in advance.

8. Outsourcing and external services

We outsource the processing of collected information to the following external service providers. Each of them handles data only to the extent necessary for the purposes, and we use them after confirming that appropriate protective measures are in place.

  • Hosting and delivery: Vercel Inc. (delivery of the website)
  • Database: Supabase Inc. (storage of "like" feature data)
  • File delivery: Cloudflare Inc. (delivery of article images, etc.)
  • Access analysis and advertising: Google LLC (Google Analytics 4, Google AdSense)

9. Cross-border transfer of personal information

The external service providers above operate servers outside Japan, such as in the United States. Inquiry information and other data may therefore be transferred outside Japan. In line with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we take the measures required by law, such as concluding standard contractual clauses, when using these providers.

10. Provision to third parties

We will not provide personal information to third parties without the consent of the data subject, except in any of the following cases.

  • When required by laws and regulations
  • When necessary to protect the life, body or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain the data subject’s consent
  • When particularly necessary to improve public health or promote the sound growth of children and it is difficult to obtain the data subject’s consent
  • When cooperating with a national institution, a local government, or a party entrusted by them in performing affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the data subject’s consent may hinder the performance of those affairs

11. Retention and deletion

Inquiry information is retained after the response is completed only to the extent necessary for managing negotiations and contracts and fulfilling legal obligations, and is deleted when no longer necessary. Access logs are retained for the period necessary for investigating unauthorized access and for statistical purposes.

If you would like your information deleted, please contact us at the contact point in the next section.

12. Requests for disclosure, correction, suspension of use, etc.

For opinions or complaints regarding this Policy, or for requests for notification of purposes of use, disclosure, correction, addition or deletion of retained personal data, or suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of provision to third parties (collectively, "disclosure, etc."), please contact us at info@media-leap.com by email.

After confirming that you are the person concerned (or their agent), we will respond free of charge, usually within 30 days. If we cannot respond, we will explain the reason and any necessary procedures.

13. Minors

Users under 18 years of age should use the inquiry form on the Site only with the consent of a parent or guardian.

14. Security

To prevent leakage, loss or damage to the information we handle, we take security measures such as encrypted communication (SSL/TLS), access control, and careful selection of external service providers. In the unlikely event of an incident such as information leakage, we will promptly take the necessary measures and explain within the necessary scope.

15. Links to other websites

The handling of information on external websites linked from the Site is governed by the privacy policies of those websites, and we are not responsible for them.

16. Changes to this Policy

We may change this Policy as necessary. The revised Policy takes effect when it is posted on this page. For significant changes, we may announce it on the Site afterwards.
